Lane E. Webb is the Managing Partner of the San Diego office, Chief Executive Officer and a Shareholder of Lynberg & Watkins. He has substantial experience in the defense of property damage and bodily injury claims arising from exposures to carbon monoxide, benzene, silica, asbestos, commercial cleaning products containing chlorophenols, hydrogen sulfide, mold, fiberglass, mercury, lead, calcium carbonates, medical imaging contrast dyes, commercial pesticides, nitrogen and nitrogen dioxide as well as other environmental contaminants.

His trial work includes:

  • Brian Virgili v. Newport Crest HOA and Optimum Property Management – obtained a defense verdict on all causes of action in a 10-day homeowner v. HOA/Property Management trial in Orange County, California that spanned over 3 weeks. Homeowner stated that water intrusion from the exterior of the building was cause for mold growth within the condominium. The defense was able to show causation stemmed from the homeowner responsible areas and that the homeowner’s claims for damages were completely unfounded. The motions in limine in this case displayed Attorney Webb’s understanding of mold exposure work and a strong defense in similar cases. His team was able to exclude a significant portion of evidence that was unfounded by plaintiff. Attorney Webb was able to successfully argue multiple non-suit motions after plaintiff counsel rested, reducing the causes of action and successfully limiting the plaintiff’s case.

Mr. Webb is nationally known for his expertise in the defense of habitability claims and claims alleging violations of housing and rent control ordinances. He has handled over 2,000 habitability claims since 1992. He is a recognized expert on the defense of Federal and California State Class Action matters. He routinely handles high exposure traumatic brain injury and mild traumatic brain injury claims.

Mr. Webb has defended these cases throughout California and across the United States. He currently serves as National Monitoring Counsel for several major insurance carriers. In this capacity, he has been admitted pro hack in over 25 states to assist local counsel with the defense of such claims. He has tried over 60 cases to verdict.
